GRIPS PROGRAM

Arroyo Seco Racquet Club is pleased to be one of the first facilities in Southern California to implement the GRIPS junior development program.

Tennis has needed an objective system of measuring and monitoring player achievement and development for a long time.  Great junior coaches know that 'winning' and achieving high rankings are only a small part of the tale in the 7 to 10 year process of developing a full and complete tennis player.

The GRIPS system, patterned after the Karate 'belt' system, is the answer to players, parents and coaches wanting to ensure objective improvement and results from their kids.

Players sign up online for the program at gripsprogram.com (the cost is $60.00 per year, roughly the cost of a single tennis lesson).  Once signed up, kids have the opportunity to take on court skills tests, online aptitude tests, and get started on their way to great achievements.  No more wondering from parents how their kids are doing, the on court tests will tell the tale.

The GRIPS PROGRAM is now required for all participants in our junior tennis clinics.

Grips colors range from white (total beginner) to black (master professional).  Objective tests held 4 times per year will measure the student's progress up the grip system.  Players who advance to each level will receive a certificate of advancement and a colored overwrap for their racquet reflecting their accomplishment and skill level.  For more info see www.gripsprogram.com.
